Ah, Mt Hood, the spikiest volcano in the region. At 11,245 feet it is the smallest of the bunch in this area, except for Mt St Helens but that's because that mountain blew its top in 1980.
Mt Hood is a very busy mountain as it is located fairly close to Portland. Plus there are ski resorts and very small towns close by. Great adventures are to be had either by climbing the whole thing, or day hiking, backpacking individual trails, backpacking the Timberline Trail, and snowsports.
