Hiking With Gadget Girl

It's All About The Adventure!

We came off the trail last Tuesday, celebrated Dave's birthday on Wednesday, but delayed getting back on the trail due to some respiratory issues I'd developed from the altitude (plus nasty thunderstorms). I've never had this before but I definitely needed to stay in lower elevation until it resolved itself. We did a test 4 mile hike yesterday up to the 12,000 foot to Snow Mesa and it appears that I can try hiking again. Today Dave drops us off for four days from Spring Creek Pass to Molas Pass (near Silverton). Forecast is calling for thunderstorms and we've received first hand reports of thick hail on the ground from other hikers. The weather has definitely turned so this four day section will determine if we continue after Silverton or call it good.

Photos from our four mile round trip hike to Snow Mesa:

A partial skeleton sitting on the side of the trail.

Trail turned rocky halfway up to the top.

Bella so happy to be hiking with us.

Thunderstorms to the east and south of us. Two hikers, one from England, hesitated a long time before deciding to cross Snow Mesa.
