It's All About The Adventure!
Off we go for our grand adventure! Drove south on Hwy 97 and arrived in Bend for a luncheon date with Linda's brother Bill and wife Karen. Food was forgotten by the kitchen and we ended up with a free lunch. Back on the road we stopped for gas in Klamath Lakes, then made our way to Eagle Lake for the night.
Had to make an emergency potty stop and boy did we luck out with a cattle pen/loader, complete with an outhouse with mouse nibbled toilet paper.
A couple of barns kept me occupied as I waited for Seasoned Strider to finish.
Arrived at the lake, and because the North Eagle Lake Campground was on BLM land, we were pleasantly surprised to pay the senior rate of $4.00 for the night. We slept in the back of Linda's truck, just had to make sure we didn't sit up too quickly as we would smack our heads on the roof. Meanwhile, back in the Gorge, we saw on FB that a wildfire ignited between Rowena and The Dalles. Friends Cindy and Tom were in direct line of the fire and were placed on first level Get Ready/Set order. Huge relief that two planes and one helicopter quickly got the 10 acre fire under control.
