We were up early as we had a long day ahead of us. It was still very cold when we left Guitar Lake so we were bundled up in long sleeves/jackets, hats, gloves, and long pants. Finally shed clothing 2.31 miles down.and continued downhill for a loss of 2,431 ft. Now we had to gain all that back plus more.

We decided to hike past Tyndall Creek and continued 15.84 miles with a 3,327 elevation gain in hot windy conditions.

Right after this photo, a gust of wind came out of nowhere and hit my umbrella hard, turning it inside out. Thank goodness it is designed to be flexible to flip out and is easy to flip back to its proper form.

In the following photo, there is a patch of snow near the top of the ridge. That is the scary chute crossing to get over Forester Pass.

When we were passing these lakes, we were pretty tired and ready to make camp, but we continued up to the last small pond.

We ended up at the base of Forester Pass at the last pond, which still had a rim of thick snow of the south end of it. Found a small flat section where we squeezed in three tents at the 12,489 ft level. The best part of this is we only have 690 ft to climb in the morning to 13,180 ft to get over Forester Pass.

Found a tiny patch of flat sandy rock to cram in three tents. Pebbles wasn't able to open her foyer doors but we made do with what we had.

Seasoned Strider relaxing and getting ready to make dinner.
