Did the switchero of Pebbles and Vicki and again we were on our way over Bishop Pass and continuing north towards Muir Pass. Once over Bishop, it was a lovely 3,176 ft elevation loss back down to Le Conte Canyon. After lunch it was a very hot and tiring afternoon hiking up the canyon. It was the hottest day yet. I am so glad to have my umbrella to ward off the sun. Vicki is fully covered and didn't realize how hot it can be in the Sierra. She packed for cold weather. All three of us felt the heat and dragged into camp late afternoon. We are thinking about revising our plans to hike the alternate loopof Darwin Canyon and back through the Piute canyon that we have planned for two days from now. It will be steep, really hot, plus there will be route finding and climbing over boulders. Seasoned Strider and I have been hiking nonstop since July 1st and we are drained from hiking six big passes now with another looming tomorrow (Muir 11955 ft).
