Spent a pleasant day meandering through McClure Meadow and passed the ranger cabin. Big signs of both sides saying "do not approach unless you have an emergency" due to Covid. Continued downward through the Evolution Creek area where we had our first wade through the water. Seasoned Strider took the high water route as she wanted a cool and refreshing lower half rinse. Vicki and I took the low water route and nimbly crossed the ankle deep section. The waterfalls were impressive as they pounded downward towards the Middle Fork Kings River. Stopped at a beautiful river outcropping for lunch. Seasoned Strider decided to walk barefoot in the water, not realizing how slippery one rock was. Her legs went out from under her and her right elbow took the brunt of the fall with her backside following suit. I think her pride was hurt a bit more than the small cut on her arm and the bump in her elbow. She was okay, we doctored her up, and continued down in the hot afternoon. We finally arrived at the turn off trail to the Muir Trail Ranch where we would settle in for the night.
