Hiking With Gadget Girl

It's All About The Adventure!

Thank goodness it was a quiet night, no bear visits! Got a late start as we needed to say our goodbyes to our hearty trail angels Greg and Duane.

We had hiked the hardest part to Glen Pass late yesterday afternoon so we only had 2.9 miles from Charlotte Lake to the top of Glen Pass.

Again we had the top to ourselves. It's such a pleasure because if you've ever been at the top of these passes, there isn't much room to navigate around others.

We had a huge downhill today and lost 3,763 feet and gained 2,037 ft during today's hike. We first descended into the very popular Rae Lakes area. The scenery is spectacular here.

Passed the regal Fin Dome dominating over the many streams meandering through the meadows.

A group of young women were attempting to cross over a log and most made it over safely except the last one who slipped and went for a dunk. She and most of her gear was sopping wet. Thankfully it was a hot day and it should all dry out by dinner time.

More downhill for us to Woods Creek. Ran into a fellow who said he saw five bears at Woods Creek that morning, one was a sow with two baby bears. Well, that made me nervous! We arrived at Woods Creek tired, dirty, and our feet hurt. Made dinner away from our tents and thankfully no bears arrived to share our meal.

The famous suspension bridge at Woods Creek.
